That one's simple.  It stays where it is, but only the bus can use it, instead of other vehicles at present.  To be honest, the only real issue I can see is the position of the emergency services garage exit.

That's a good idea, the state of the local bus service it will hardly ever cause a problem!

wrex, I have counted more than 8 before now.

You would be surprised how many cars form an outside lane exiting MC by the traffic lights and also how many cars go through on AMBER, and even RED, because they know they can get away with it as the traffic coming through the other set of traffic lights on Conway Road are so far away.

Because of the poorly-designed car park, it is motorists who park over towards Homebase and try to exit near McDonalds who will always suffer the most when the car park is full.

viv took over one hour to exit on Monday afternoon but, ironically, she would have driven straight out yesterday at the same time.

On the other hand, had viv parked in the Staples car park on Monday, she probably would have driven out within 5 minutes.

I was stuck in the melee at Mostyn Champneys from 2.45pm today till 3:50pm with 3 small grandchildren.

Please note I am not an anorak but I am merely providing feedback as an observant pedestrian who regularly uses this route into Llandudno.  )*)&

Never thought of parking at Staples! Great idea, but I hope not too many people have the same idea!

Actually, in my opinion, viv’s crisis on Monday afternoon highlights a more serious problem with Mostyn Champneys.

If viv was struggling to exit the car park at 2.45pm for over one hour then there must have still been motorists at that time of the day queuing up to enter the car park and not being informed that the car park was already dangerously full.

•   Had somebody collapsed with a heart attack outside Homebase at 3pm, how would an ambulance have managed to reach the casualty and then taken the patient to hospital?

•   Had there been a furniture fire in Harveys at 3.30pm, how would the fire engines have managed to get there? Would they have been restricted to access by the rear only?

Is Mostyn Champneys actively managed on a day-to-day basis and onsite with staff just like Parc Llandudno is?

If not, should it be?

The weather for the next few days is a tad poor. Warning - amber for the wind and rain and actually several level 3 Red warnings for flooding - have been arriving throughout the day. Problem is yet another very low pressure system sweeping in on a very high tide on Friday / Saturday, followed by an even lower Low on Sunday.

From the Met office:

"A developing Atlantic low pressure system is expected to move northeastwards just to the west of Scotland on Friday. This will push further bands of locally heavy rain across the UK and winds will gust to around 60-70 mph over coasts and hills, locally 80 mph along some exposed Irish Sea coasts. Inland, gusts up to 50 mph are likely. Lowering pressure will combine with high tides around the UK coastline and bring the risk of some flooding."

The issue in Llandudno is the combination: storm surge and rain.  Once the sea level has exceeded the height at which the drains drain, then the water doesn't go anywhere.

Down in Aberystwyth, they are expecting waves 2 metres above sea level, and higher than the sea defences were designed to handle.   Evacuations are in progress tonight.
Also, in South and West Wales several coastal towns have been bracing for waves of up to 30 feet high!
