FLOOD WARNINGS IN ST ASAPH: 500 residents in St Asaph are being urged to leave their homes amid fears the River Elwy is about to burst its banks.
North Wales Police are working in conjunction with the Environment Agency, Denbighshire Council and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to warn homeowners in the lower area of the city to stay with friends or relatives.
Denbighshire Council has set up an emergency refuge centre at the leisure centre at Ysgol Glan Clwyd.
A police spokesman said: "Police are patrolling the area and visiting small households to reassure the public."

A55 is apparently still open.

BBC Reporter Chris Dearden is in St. Asaph,  he just tweeted this pic of the roundabout under the A55, says the water is rising rapidly:

Just coming out of town now and a vanload of Police and the Coastguard Van were racing towards the prom with "Blues and Twos" on, closely followed by the 22 helicopter from Valley going overhead low eastbound. However as I write this the helicopter has just returned going back towards Valley.

My husband is somewhere in the middle of that while I am sat in the sun in Dubai.....good timing!
On a serious note though, it sounds terrible and I am so sorry for people because it takes so long to get a flooded home back to normal.

Chris Dearden of the BBC says that water levels are now starting to fall quickly in St Asaph. Here's another pic he's just taken:

Amazingly, the river level in St Asaph was so high that it broke the measuring gauge after recording a record high!

I hope that your property has escaped the floods Hollins,  its just horrific seeing the pictures on TV and on the links posted on the forum.
We phoned up an elderley friend who lives in the flooded area but thankfully for her the house isn't flooded. She said that her house is like an island with all her unfortunate neighbours being flooded.
I hope that tonights high tide doesn't make the situation worse.
