FLOOD WARNINGS IN ST ASAPH: 500 residents in St Asaph are being urged to leave their homes amid fears the River Elwy is about to burst its banks.
North Wales Police are working in conjunction with the Environment Agency, Denbighshire Council and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to warn homeowners in the lower area of the city to stay with friends or relatives.
Denbighshire Council has set up an emergency refuge centre at the leisure centre at Ysgol Glan Clwyd.
A police spokesman said: "Police are patrolling the area and visiting small households to reassure the public."
