There's a cracking letter from a Mr Clague on the subject of the ALP, the Chief Officer and Coun Frobisher in the Daily Post today. Well worth a read. I wonder if the way this has been handled may herald the demise of the Fire Authorities in Wales and they will be run by Welsh Govt on a similar basis to what happens in Northern Ireland.

I have scrutinised the agenda item on the North Wales Fire Authority’s website and I cannot find any evidence to confirm a due diligence audit report was commissioned and presented to support replacing the ALP’s at both Wrexham and Rhyl but not here in Llandudno.

I wonder what the Public Service Ombudsman for Wales would think about that?

A CRASH on the A55 killed a man, and left three others seriously injured – closing the westbound lanes for nine hours.

The smash between a Mitsubishi Shogun and a white Renault Master van happened at 4am yesterday morning on an un-lit stretch between the junctions for Abergwyngregyn and Tal-y-bont, near Bangor.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star's son James Doherty in court over fatal crash

The son of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty has appeared in court accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

David Doherty, 27, of Queensferry, Flintshire, was charged after the death of James Loveridge in a crash on the A55 near Bangor, Gwynedd.

He is also accused of failing to stop, report the crash, being uninsured and taking a Land Rover without consent.

He was remanded in custody at Caernarfon magistrates' court.

The court was told the incident happened on Sunday between 03:30 and 04:00 GMT.
David Doherty is accused of crashing a Mitsubishi Shogun into a Renault van parked in a lay-by at Talybont.

Mr Loveridge, 38, died at the scene and the van driver was left in a critical condition.

Three other people travelling in the Shogun were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
David Doherty's solicitor applied for bail and told the court: "His father, Patrick Doherty, has offered £20,000 and he can also put up the deeds on three properties, worth £500,000."

David Doherty's father has appeared in the Channel 4 programme My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and he won Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 last year.

Bail was denied and David Doherty, who was on crutches, will appear at Caernarfon Crown Court on April 2

Very rough seas tonight, the Quarry ship at Llanddulas has been washed onto the rocks at the side of the A55. Police and Coastguard in attendance. Let's hope everyone on board is safe. Photo courtesy of View creative.

Llandudno Lifeboat has now been called out to the beached ship. So close to the shore, this will be a very dangerous rescue for them.
