Dog owners are being warned by vets to keep their pets away from the potentially deadly palm oil masses that have washed up in Penrhyn Bay.

There have been several incidents where dogs have become incredibly ill after consuming, chewing or even just licking a mass of palm oil.
The lumps of palm oil give off a "very noxious smell" that dogs are often drawn to, but the toxic substance can cause vomiting and diarrhoea when ingested.
It can also lead to kidney and liver failure, or blockages of the gut.

Dog owners in the area are advised to keep their dogs on a lead to protect them from accidental ingestion, or to avoid the area.

Palm oil is a natural substance that is legally allowed to be released into the sea by ships as long as they are more than 12 miles offshore.
It can become contaminated by fuel waste, bacteria and other toxins, which makes it incredibly dangerous for dogs to consume.

These 92 people left behind a fortune and you might be in line to inherit from one of them

I've already had a good look through the list but have no relative there, I'm still hoping for a connection to the late billionaire Howard Hughes from the USA       &shake&

Two Fire engines attended a fire at the Public Toilets in the Happy Valley around 11:30 this morning. It was quickly extinguished and there was no apparent damage to the outside of the building.

EMORDNILAP      ;D

Surely it also happened on 10/02/2001, 20/02/2002, 30/02/2003 and 01/02/2010, 11/02/2011, 12/02/2012, 13/02/2013 and the next one will be on 03/02/2030 !!!

I believe you are correct, DVT.

I simply thought it looked good enough to share earlier without actually giving it much scrutiny.

The Americans format their dates with the month before the day, hence the 900 years statement.

Still not true !!!

Surely 11/02/2011 would be the last time for them - November 2nd, 2011 ???

Seems I got it wrong before as well - delete the 2013 date and the 2012 one should be 21/02/2012 and not 12/02/2012 - 21st February, 2012 - oops!

Logic to me would be day, month, year.

When the Americans were having 11/02/2011 it was 02/11/2011 in the U.K. sorry if I’m being pedantic, but it’s interesting to us nerds.

The CCBC Replacement Local Development Plan candidate sites have now been posted & Site 102 Land at Bodafon Field, Llandudno is being supported by Mr Edward Hiller of Mostyn Estates Limited.
Looks like there will be another battle on very soon.

Of course Mr Edward Hiller would support an application on Bodafon Fields, they have never given up on plans to develop those fields into private housing
The company seems to be expanding its empire at an alarming rate without making any contribution to the area that involves paying out their own money, say paving flags for instance
I hope that CCBC are not taken in by the firm

Mostyn originally wanted Bodafon fields as the base for a theme park - an Alice in Wonderland Theme park.

They will try anything they can to get their grubby mitts on developing the land and I think that their plans for an Alice in Wonderland Theme Park was a ruse to what they really wanted,  a trick something like Anwyl Construction have been doing with the Penmorfa site in Llandudno

I've copied a posting I made about 2 years ago and to the best of my knowledge and belief Mostyn Estates has not contributed a single penny towards this despite all the big promises made at the time

"This is what Mr Edward Hiller said in July 2013 about the Promenade shelters, but that was only 6 years ago so we'll have to wait a bit longer, probably a lot longer

"And Mostyn Estates managing director Edward Hiller said in addition to offering to make a financial contribution, the company had been able to supply the county council with the plans for the original shelters.

“We found plans dated 1899 in a desk drawer in the offices and these will be used as the template for the design of the new shelters which will mean they will look pretty authentic.

“We are prepared to put money towards the cost of the shelter and it would be good if other businesses or private individuals in the town were willing to match us pound for pound and do the same,” he added. "

Sounds like a person that likes to load the gun but waits for someone else to shoot it, Hugo
He has also supported
Site 105 Land near 4 Cromlech Road, Llandudno.
Site 107 Land on Queens Road, Llandudno
Site 108 Land at Bryniau near Llandudno Hospital
& a few other in Llanrhos.
CCBC are just not keeping up with all the infrastructure needed for all the proposed housing.
