From the Daily Post:
Tributes have been paid to a “fantastic daddy” who was crushed to death in an accident near his home.
Police investigating how Barry John Roberts died on the Great Orme in Llandudno are continuing with their enquiries.
An inquest was opened yesterday in Ruthin into the death of the 44-year-old dad who lived in Llwynon Road, near the scene of the incident.
HM Coroner for North Wales Central John Gittins said that the man was certified dead early Tuesday at 12.25am.
Pathologist Dr Mark Atkinson conducted a post mortem examination at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan and found the preliminary cause of death to be crush injuries to the chest.
In a statement released by North Wales Police, Barry’s family said: “Barry Roberts (Baz the lad) from the Great Orme, Llandudno sadly passed away, following a tragic accident which occurred early hours on the 5th of November, 2013.”
They added: “Barry was a loving father to his beloved eight-year-old daughter, Melissa, and a devoted son to Hefina and the late David Roberts.
“Barry was a larger than life, popular character who had an extremely positive outlook on life and many longstanding friends.
“He was an avid Liverpool supporter, who loved his motorcross and spending time socialising at the local ski slope.
“Barry was a fantastic ‘daddy’ who loved nothing more than just spending time with his beautiful daughter.
“Barry will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him but will never be forgotten.”
A full inquest will be held at a later date.
