Re: Stop Press.......fishing boat the Nicola Faith raised
« Reply #1875 on: May 31, 2021, 12:28:35 pm »
The sunken fishing boat the Nicola Faith has been raised from the sea off the coast of North Wales.

The Nicola Faith vanished on January 27 along with its crew, which consisted of skipper Carl McGrath, 34, and his crewmates Ross Ballantine, 39, and Alan Minard, 20.

The bodies of the three men were later discovered and the wreck was found on April 13. It was located 1.9 nautical miles off Rhos Point, which is just 177 metres away from its last known position.

It's understood that the Nicola Faith will be taken ashore to a secure location for further examination before being prepared for a stability assessment.

If it was a road traffic accident that resulted in three people losing their lives there would be a thorough investigation by the Police to see what caused the accident in the first place.
The fact that it was at sea and not that far out anyway shouldn't make any difference for the need to get answers.in this tragic accident
Hopefully lessons may be learnt for the future and that the grieving families can have some form of closure on this.

Re: Stop Press....Painkiller recall URGENT
« Reply #1878 on: June 16, 2021, 04:34:37 pm »
Thousands of packs of painkillers have been recalled due to safety concerns.

A total of 4,464 packs of Co-codamol 30/500 Effervescent Tablets have been recalled.

Anyone who uses the common painkiller is being urged to check their batch number, which is printed on the labels to ensure that they don’t have one of the affected packs.

The recall follows advice from a Class 1 National Patient Safety Alert.

Manufacturer, Zentiva Pharma UK Limited informed the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) that packs with Batch Number 1K10121 have been found to potentially have too little of the active ingredients (codeine phosphate and paracetamol).

This means that the tablets might not work as they should, while some others may also contain too much of the active ingredients and therefore potentially result in overdose.

The batch number details are below:

Co-codamol 30/500 Effervescent Tablets

Company Name: Zentiva Pharma UK Ltd
PL 17780/0046
Batch Number: 1K10121
Expiry Date: December 2023
Pack Size: 100 tablets
Batch Size: 4464 packs
First Distributed: 05 March 2021

Re: Stop Press.........RED ARROWS
« Reply #1880 on: August 12, 2021, 01:18:01 pm »
THE RED Arrows will fly over Conwy later today.

The iconic aerobatics wing of the RAF will fly over parts of county before and after visiting RAF Valley on Anglesey for a private family event.

After departing from RAF Shawbury in Shrewsbury, they will fly over Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr at about 4pm before bypassing the the Alwen Reservoir onto Snowdonia.

They will fly directly over Melin-y-coed and Llanwrst, before heading north towards the coast over Llanddoged, Gell, Trofarth and Dolwen.

They will then fly directly over Llanddulas, and over the A55 before making their way out to sea before swinging back round to Anglesey's east coast.

On their return from Anglesey, they will leave RAF Valley at 7.10pm and fly over Llanfairfechan shortly after, before moving inland and over the River Conwy near Tal-y-cafn.

They will fly over the village of Graig and over the A548 near Pentre Isaf before moving into Denbighshire, followed by parts of Flintshire and Wrexham.

Timings and routes may be subject to change due to weather and other factors.        ref pioneer

Thanks for that Steve. 4 of them have just flown right over our house in perfect formation and I leapt up from my chair to watch after hearing an approaching rumble and reading your post.

Excellent .....sitting drinking tea in the garden, on a quiet morning, to have, I am assuming, the Red Arrows flying over, in two formations of four, wonderful sight.

Yes, I saw them too. On their way to a display over the Isle of Man.
My thoughts were I wish we had them here, in fact I'd prefer to see the money spent on them than on a firework display which recently had a budget of £47k allocated to.

Update...

Emergency services and crane called in as man spends hours on Llandudno roof
Police described it as a 'concern for safety' incident

A road in the centre of Llandudno had to be shut as emergency services dealt with a man who had climbed onto a roof.

A crane was used to try to reach the man during the incident in Madoc Street on Thursday afternoon.

Shortly before 2.30pm, a man was seen on the roof of a building, and police arrived on the scene shortly after to close the road.

The fire service were also called to the scene and assisted police in trying to get the man down.

It is a pleasant feeling that a crane was used, but that it was disguised as a fire service turntable ladder.......quality journalism, well done Daily Post! ))*
