These offences used to come into the category of armed robbery which attracted hefty custodial sentences rather than the suspended terms which seem the vogue.

It must be so frustrating for the Police when armed raiders get off with suspended sentences, all that hard work for nothing but the general public also deserve to be protected from these criminals too.

It's not water now but boulders that are blocking the railway line to Blaenau

I often wonder how long that line will remain open, with all the flood repairs it must run at a big loss?

Line opened this morning.  Not boulders apparently.  Move along, nothing to see!

Yes, it has opened earlier than they expected.    I remember a few years ago there was a landslip by Pont Y Pant and the line was closed for a while while they made sure that it was safe

Even better is the TfW comment yesterday that they were told by Network Rail that there had been a rockfall.  Er, I wonder whose driver was it that reported the "boulder" ??  TfW's ?

Someone screwed up big time....or on the other hand maybe they didn't!! Maybe an attempt to throw a spanner in the works?

It must have been a  wrench  having to close the line, after all the the previous problems.

If anyone is interested, one member of the Supreme Court, Lady Black, now sitting in London is a former pupil of Penrhos College in Rhos-on-Sea.  *&(

Thomas Cook could fall into administration this weekend unless the travel company finds £200m in extra funds needed to secure its future.
