It seems a body was washed ashore in the estuary near Conwy this morning. Sadly, it's probably the boat owner who went missing recently.

This looks nasty, ........video and photo in the article.

A large fire has broken out at Chester Zoo, leading to visitors being evacuated.

The zoo tweeted the blaze had broken out in its Monsoon Forest habitat.

Teams were working to bring it under control and move all animals away from the fire.

PS  "the main flames have gone, but there's a smaller fire still burning at the southern end of the roof".

New images show the extent of the damage to the Chester Zoo Monsoon Forest complex.

The Chief Fire Officer at Cheshire Fire and Rescue tweeted the series of photos which show the remains of the rainforest habitat.
Exposed beams and ashes fill what was originally a lush tropical enclosure for a number of rare South-Asian species.
The images reveal that the roof has been completely destroyed.

There were no human injuries and the zoo has since confirmed that all the mammals had been "accounted for".  ?

I was very sorry to hear yet another Greenfield site will be built on at Pentywyn/Marl Lane. Beech Developments went to appeal after CCBC Planning Committee voted against building 110 houses & won.
Commiserations to all the residents, their Councillors & AM who fought tirelessly to save this Greenfield area :'(

CCBC councillors only have themselves to blame, I believe. They're complaining bitterly that their share of the RSG is very low, given they have the highest proportion of elderly folk living here, so they happily slap almost 12% on the Council tax bills, but when they get overruled by the planning Inspector what do they do?

Complaining to the newspapers simply isn't good enough. If they really believe the council is being treated as badly as they claim, then they only have one course of action: resign en masse.  That would force the WA to step in and run Conwy directly, which they - in turn - should refuse to do, so the Government is forced to step in.

That would make the news for some time, yet it requires people of principle and integrity to do it so probably not a lot of hope.

On BBC Wales morning news, yesterday, Rhianna Wilkins kept pronouncing 'Radiologist' as Radio-ologist".  I thought someone in the news room might have mentioned it to her.
