A PROMINENT businessman has appeared in court accused of a series of sex offences, including four of rape.

Steven Stanley Dickens, aged 50, of Marine Drive, Rhos-on-Sea, is alleged to have committed the offences against the same victim between 2012 and last Saturday, September 27.

In addition to the four charges of rape he also faces two of sexual penetration and one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against the same victim.

Magistrates in Prestatyn rejected an application by his solicitor Ian Till for Dickens to be bailed pending his appearance in Caernarfon Crown Court on October 13.

Mr Till said that his client, who had recently been working for his father-in-law at Cafe Culture in Conwy, had described the allegations as “wholly fabricated”.

The article made it clear that no one was hurt Hugo.

No-one was hurt and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the blaze had not spread. It was out by 18:55 BST.

Thanks Fester, I hadn't read it properly and was thinking about smoke inhalation as well as other injuries.

WATCH: Llandudno hotel guests evacuated after fire breaks out

A hotel was evacuated after a fire broke out.

Three fire engines rushed to the Whitehouse Hotel, on Mostyn Crescent, Llandudno, after the alarm was raised at 5.15pm yesterday.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, which was caused by  an electrical fault.
It is not known how many people, including staff, were evacuated.
But 48 guests were booked to stay at the four storey hotel which has a capacity of 108.

When I drove past at just before 7pm there were 3 fire engines (is that the correct term?) outside the hotel with one of them being the "ladder" so I guess it must have been stationed a bit nearer than Rhyl, or it came on a hovercraft.  :D

Plenty of flashing lights but not much in the way of smoke or flames, thank goodness.
