It was taken about 100 yards South of that old Welsh Water building.      At one time there were small sandhills where the cafe, car park, apartments and miniature railway are now and there is a photo in the gallery of cars parking in those sand dunes

I was on the West Shore earlier today and watched a JCB loading scrub and sand on to a lorry.  The lorry  then drove off and the last time I saw it,  it was on the A55 in Colwyn Bay and heading eastwards.
It seems an expensive way of getting rid of the sand as there is a lot more sand remaining there

Hugo I was down there with the dog round 1 o'clock,  soaking wet sandblasted I have to take her on the part by the toll gate, I thought Ccbc had no money this is the third time since April they have cleared and each time it's blowing a gale so is all back in no time. 😡

I wish CCBC would put the sand on the North Shore instead.

It does seem extremely odd that they have masses of surplus sand on the WS and simply never bother trucking it round to the North.

I wonder exactly where that lorry was going to dump all that sand.           They cannot deposit the sand on the North Shore without a licence from DEFRA.    I seems strange that the sand blows over from the shore but you cannot put it back without a licence          &shake&

Hugo I asked the wagon driver where they were taking the sand, he said the recycle centre. Why is it not going back on the beach like other years 🤔 So the price of this clear will be a lot more than other years £6./10.000. Thought our council had no money.

It's not the recycling centre in Mochdre Norman as the lorry was on it's way through Colwyn Bay, perhaps it's the one by Towyn?
That was just one lorry so if they were to remove all the sand then dozens of journeys would have to be made.
What is taking them so long to come up with a plan of action for the West and North Shores?        Perhaps their ideas are still in lockdown

I spoke to the lads shifting sand on the West Shore too today Norman and Hugo, and they told me it goes to a recycling centre and they "recycle" it for re-use.  I asked why it didn't go back onto the beach like in previous years and they said it is designated as "contaminated" once it comes over the sea-wall.        *cycle*
