Open Doors - Caernarfon Castle
« on: September 23, 2017, 04:41:47 pm »
After our previous disappointment of Hafodunos Hall, me and Mrs R ventured over early to Caernarfon this morning, especially as tours were being advertised for 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Upon arrival, we tried to book the 11am tour with plans later to visit the Quarry Hospital in Llanberis.

Unfortunately, there were no tours being organised, which was naturally a disappointment for us.

I hope greater attention to detail will be made next year by the organisers of these Open Doors events.

Nevertheless, I am posting a few pics.

I hope Ian will be able to straighten the last photo for me of Her Majesty's seat on the 1st July 1969.

Apparently, the first photo is of the room used by Lord Snowdon when planning the 1969 Investiture.

It seems today was the first day it has been opened to the public since 1969.
