Open Doors - Hafodunos Hall.
« on: September 08, 2017, 06:21:21 am »
After picking up a leaflet a few weeks ago, me and Mrs R ventured off to Hafodunos Hall yesterday afternoon.

It wasn't easy to find when you approach it from Glan Conwy corner !!

Nevertheless, eventually, we got there but there was nobody around.

We called into the Sir Henry Jones museum in Llangernyw only to be informed by two lovely ladies that the event was held last Saturday, 2 September and it was a misprint in the leaflet.

Last night, I located the Hafodunos Hall Facebook page to express my disappointment and was advised that this error is not the only error in this year's leaflet.

So beware, fellow forum members, when planning your visits this year.

What a shame the Council got the date wrong on the leaflet, it's a lovely place to visit.

Yes. I was so looking forward to it because I had not been back there since the early eighties when Mr and Mrs Mackeson- Sandbach were clients of mine.

Bodnant Gardens are open to the public for free entry on Saturday the 9th Sept 2017 but take a brolly as the weather forecast isn't very good.  This other article is also worth a look at.

Yes, it was for many years. I visited Hafodunos a couple of times whilst derelict and wrote this blog post about its history:
