Ryder Cup 2014: Win has not sunk in - Jamie Donaldson  $walesflag$

His superb approach shot on the 15th clinched a 4&3 win over Keegan Bradley on Sunday to give Europe the 14½ points needed to beat USA at Gleneagles.
"It's incredible," he told Radio Wales Sport on Monday evening.
"What an amazing week. For me, I played really well from the go and the team spirit was fantastic."

Donaldson began to realises the significance of his encounter with Bradley as fans gathered in greater numbers.
"It was quite quiet and as we turned onto 12-13, the crowd seemed to double every hole," he said. "By the time we got to the 14th tee it was absolutely chocka. There were cameramen everywhere.
"There was thousands of people on the hole and I knew then it was going to be tight.

GOLF: Amy Boulden just outside Lacoste French Open top ten

LLANDUDNO golfer Amy Boulden lies just outside the top ten after carding another 69 at the Lacoste French Open.
Boulden heads into the weekend having bogeyed just four of her 36 holes so far, giving her another fantastic chance to earn some good money atop the leaderboard as she looks to claim the Ladies European Tour Rookie of the Year crown.

GOLF: Amy Boulden facing battle to make cut at South African Open

The 21-year-old carded a 77 in her rain-interrupted first round, leaving her five over for the tournament.
Starting her round on the back nine, the Conwy Golf Club member started the round in impressive fashion, making birdie at the 11th hole.
Disappointment would then follow with bogeys at 14 and 15, before a stunning birdie at the 18th ensured she headed into the back nine on level par.
A bogey on the par five first hole put her back to one over, before heavy rain forced play to be abandoned for the day.
Boulden resumed her round this morning, but the first year professional endured a torrid end to her round, with bogeys at three, five, six, seven and nine leaving her with a five over par score for the round, giving her plenty of work to do in round two.
At the time of writing, Boulden is currently one over through six holes in her second round, six over for the tournament

Masters 2016: Champion Danny Willett's golf journey started in Wales
He's Yorkshire born and bred, but newly crowned Masters champion Danny Willett began his golfing life "in the middle of a sheep field" in Wales.

The 28-year-old won his first major by three shots on five under as 2015 champion Jordan Spieth crumbled during a thrilling final round in Augusta.
Sheffield-born Willett is the first European winner since Jose Maria Olazabal in 1999 and the first British victor since Nick Faldo's win 20 years ago.
It's a quarter of a century since Welshman Ian Woosnam won his only major at Augusta in 1991, but Wales can claim a part in the latest Masters drama.

Llangefni's pay as you play golf course, a former council-owned facility now run by a social enterprise, is a world away from the manicured splendour of the Augusta National.
"We used to go to Anglesey in Wales for two weeks in the summer and play the same nine-hole golf course three or four times,"

A GOLF professional has achieved the rarest of feats.

Lee Harpin, the PGA professional at Rhos on Sea Golf Club, recently tore up the course at Holyhead Golf Club.

Playing in the North Wales Professional Golfers Alliance, he completed an unbelievable round of 59.

That was 12-under-par at the venue and his bogey-free once-in-a-lifetime round contained four eagles and a quartet of birdies.

He smashed the previous course record by five shots.                ref Pioneer
