The subject of the N.W. rail link, raises it's head every now and again, the only good news is, they are still talking about it, although I am not convinced they will remember N.W. if it ever gets going.

North Wales gets its own regional chief from Welsh Government to drive economy.

Since devolution the Welsh Government has often been accused of being Cardiff-centric and is now taking steps to move to a more regional approach.
This has seen them create the new role for a senior civil servant dedicated to providing leadership in the region and bring together other partners to develop the economy in North Wales.

Who would have thought it Steve ?  Before the WAG was established, the Welsh Office had an Assistant Director (Industrial Development) located in North Wales. Funny how it takes nearly 20 years for the current lot to realise the need!

Tellytubby sent me this link about the fastest RIP ride in the world.  Last year TellyTubby arranged for four of us to have a trip on the RIP ride from Menai Bridge and it was a great experience and we got up to about 50 mph in that boat so we're looking forward to seeing what the new boat is capable of

Interesting article relating to local issues.......

Wages have hiked 10% in this sector but some employers still struggling to recruit
Hospitality sector transformed and wages are now increasing.

Hospitality wages are increasing more rapidly than any other industry - with sector growth, the Living Wage and staff shortages driving the pay hike.

The sector has transformed in recent years with North Wales at the forefront of the changes - creating more full time permanent roles and more emphasis on training and retaining workers.
