Colwyn Bay's Forties Festival
« on: April 15, 2016, 05:43:41 pm »
EXCITEMENT is building for Colwyn Bay's Forties Festival, with organisers, residents and business owners putting in lastminute preparations for the two-day event.

Organisers Bay of Colwyn Business Network are hoping for record crowds this weekend April 16 and 17 in what is the festival's fifth year.

Attractions include two original armoured vehicles that have been restored, replica planes, 40s agricultural machinery, 40s music, displays and entertainment, as well as local food producers.

"We're hoping the weather is going to be kind to us and that we get as many people as possible to attend," said Teresa Carnall, chairperson of Bay of Colwyn Business Network.

"In 2014 we attracted over 15,000 people and generated £250,000 economic benefit, and last year around 12,000 people attended bringing in over £300,000 to the town and surrounding area.

"Last year saw more people than ever coming from the North West and the Midlands and they stayed for the whole weekend"
