Now another easy one       :o

I walked past this lovely little cottage today which was built near an ancient well.    But where is the cottage located?

This is a long shot but the house is dated 1826 same date as Telfords Conwy bridge, and there is an old well at St Celynin’s Well, Llangelynin, nr Henryd, Conwy , .......so this gets the :Sisyphus:

Good try Steve but it's not in Conwy.

In the 1860's there was a steam engine erected there to pump the water into a reservoir

Think it's Water Street in Llandudno.

Well done Cambrian, it is one of those cottages in Water Street.          &well&

I was looking at the cottages today and thinking how new developments should blend in with the surrounding properties and wonder what the people in the cottages thought when planning permission was granted for the flats     &shake&

The Royal Hotel on the other side of the flats could go the same way too

Just for a bit of info, Water Street got its name from the Ancient well that was there and the steam engine built in the 1860's used to pump water from there to the underground reservoir in Happy Valley.     The reservoir is  below the putting green near the Headlands Hotel and is a lovely piece of Victorian brick work

I love seeing those pics from beneath the Great Orme,  it's an incredible structure that so few know about.

Just in case anyone hasn't seen these photos before, I've attached a link that has some more photos on it.       I've just seen the one at Penrhyn Castle but it doesn't look as impressive as the Llandudno one,

Agreed Hugo. The 'brick work' isn't as impressive.
Love the link.... a friend of mine did the same thing, it worries me as the manhole isn't that big ! I had visions of people being wedged fast !
