That's the place I was describing but didn't know the house name.

"heb dduw, heb ddim, duw a digon"   in English means  "Without God, Without anything. God and Enough"

Not speaking more than a few words of Welsh, I will accept that your translation is correct, Hugo.  You were right about the house but Fester got in before I could reply.   &well& both!

There is also another gatehouse to Gloddaeth Hall by Llanrhos Cemetery which has a similar inscription.

The right hand gable bearing the inscription, 'Heb Dduw heb ddim; Duw a digon'. (Without God: nothing; with God: plenty) 'Anno 1889'.

The left hand gable is inscribed 'Auxilium Meum a Domino'.
