Don't want to appear awkward but, is that Rocket Street in this Llandudno or the Llandudno in South Africa?   ZXZ

The Welsh one!  I googled Rocket Street just to make sure no bright spark would get the answer too quickly and found the South African one as well !!

Why was Rocket Street in Llandudno so named and what was it re-named to?

This is a shot in the dark, but was Rocket Street the old carriage road between the two platforms of Llandudno Station?  If so, presumably named after Stephenson's Rocket.  No answer to the second part.

I've no idea but will have a pop at Jubilee Street, only because the original Lifeboat Station was next to the Railway Station.

On the right lines Hugo, but I think it's what is now Central Place.  Something on this in "Streets of Llandudno" - it's where the coastguard station was and still is.

You're right Cambrian, I did read it in the 'Streets of Llandudno'.  Central Place was originally called Rocket Street where the coastguard station fired rockets to signal distress.  Changed to Central Place to relate to the school - Llandudno Central School.
