What about it Yorkie?         Sound of the sea sounds nice but more appropriate for a place nearer the sea, don't you think?

Why anyone should call this place by its name I don't know because I wouldn't want to live in a place like that        WWW   $walesflag$

Yorkie, you're brill.    You are certainly on the right track and I've given you too many clues already so no more.       I've even told you the answer but it's not one of the ones you have given.

I'm never going to beat Yorkie now!

I think it must be Pant yr Ellyll.  One translation would be Ghost's Hollow or Spook's Hollow.  No wonder it was abandoned in 1910!

Well done Cambrian that's correct, did Ken Dibble's book help?     Yorkie was hot on your heels there but you were able to get it correct.

It was in the hollow opposite Bryn Ifan ( John's Hill) that is the last property on the left as you go up Bryn Y Bia Road.  Across the road nowadays is a small lay by with a road going uphill and that is where Pant Yr Ellyll was.

The clues were there:-
Hollow =  Pant
Fiend   =  Ellyll

The photo is on a leaflet at the Conwy Archives

My problem is that coming from The Smoke I don't speak the local lingo, so all I can say is uffern dan (with a little arrow head above the a).
