He also designed many of the buildings in Colwyn Bay itself, including the building that is now Peacocks in Station Road compete with stone pharaohs at first floor level. A very talented architect, the firm still exists today but is now longer based in the area.

I have been trying to find some photos of this builiding in its heyday without much success.
There is a small one on the above link but does anyone have any better ones?
Thanks.

Thank you. It looks quite Venetian and completely different from the other buildings in the street.
I wonder if he had trouble getting permission for it?

I may be wrong, (and more often than not I am), but I think that planning permission was introduced shortly after the end of the second world war.  Now I will await a sharp repremand from those in the know for peddling untruths, see if I care, I will take it like a man $smack$

You're absolutely......correct. The Town & Country Planning Act was introduced in 1947.  $good$

You know, I've never been up to that cafe? No, it's not in Llandudno, I'm afraid.

Nice coffee there, too. But it's not the correct answer, I'm afraid. Although it is in the Colwyn Bay area...
