Where exactly would you find this and what was it used for?

Where exactly on the Orme are they Yorkie?

I've seen them for the first time myself today,  although I;ve walked walked in the area before.

They are not in that area Dave but there were two of those things in close proximity.   I'm hoping that Yorkie will come back with a more precise location.

Can't actually tell you - you know the Masons and all that - its a secret!!   _))*   :P

Actually I haven't a clue - I just made an intelligent (I thought so anyway) guess based on the caption to the photograph and the terrain.     I had a look round myself today and couldn't find it!

Walk to the top of the Tank Track and take the path which doubles back to the left. Veer left and up to the hill/cliff top overlooking the Marine Drive.---------- :-X

Spot on Nemesis, they are near the Cottage Loaf and other rock formations.

Now do you know what they are as I haven't a clue.    They may be as Yorkie suggested but I think that they are sited too close to each other for that.

I've a vague memory that there was a building in that area many years ago and those things may have some connection to it.

*&(  Going on what you say, I'd guess they were anchor points for some sort of wire strapped onto a shed or similar to stop it sailing away in the high winds.

The anchor points may have been for a Radar mast, as there was an experimental Radar station in that area during the war.

It's not the Grand Theatre, I'm afraid.  ::)

This is the Grand's Ceiling:
