That's a tricky one Yorkie and I haven't a clue. I don't think it's in Llandudno and more likely to be in Conwy but I'm still thinking about it.  ?{}?

I think he's got a direct link to my PC, Hugo!  Either that or he thinks in a similar way and manages to find the keyt word to pop in the search engine.  Mind you I manage to get some of his American ones so it's a bit of tit for tat, as I've never been across the pond.

I suppose I'll have to praise him as usual.    :D

Well done Trojan!  Your pint awaits next time you're over.   Z**

It's Granny's Armchair on Cwm Mountain taken from the quarry below it.
It's called the Watch Tower so I suppose it was watching out for the raiders in the Irish Sea and possibly for watching those naughty boys in Maesdu Road in the 1960's!

Yes,  $good$ Hugo, very good. Granny's Armchair on Cwm Mountain or Bryniau it is. I seem to remember naughty boys in the Maesdu Road area in the 1970's too, and in that quarry below, the rusting remains of an old Austin A35. Must have once belonged to Tommy Davies of Bryniau Farm.

It was built by Sir Thomas Mostyn in the early 17th century, who, being the largest landowner from the river Dee to the river Conwy and who was also a J.P. in three counties, Sheriff of Caernarfonshire, Flintshire and Anglesey and Muster Master & Custodian of Crown Arms & Armour in Flintshire.
Local shipping was regularly becoming prey to foreign pirates, so, in order to protect his domain, Sir Thomas built an early warning system consisting of a chain of four lookout towers strategically placed along the coast at Bryniau, Llandrillo, Abergele and Whitford. Interestingly, the Llandrillo lookout included the addition of a small raised castellated section to the existing church tower.

The other three lookouts were all constructed on high ground, circular and made of stone. They were also situated to enable them to signal to each other, by way of lighted beacons should pirate ships be spotted along their section of coastline.

Where is this Listed Building in the Three Towns area?
Shouldn't be too difficult, there aren't that many!

There are 415 pages of listed buildings in the area.
Mad, Bad and Dangerous to know.
