£80 per person per night...

Not a bad price compared to some other hotels in the area.

I helped to clean the lamp lenses a few times, the keeper had a  grandson who came to stay from time to time, I went to play there and the keeper gave us the task to keep us occupied.

Dave's correct again, there are a few of them on the wall of the Chelsea Hotel.
 &well&

When that hotel used to be called Toldy's we used to go to the restaurant there and the meals were some of the best we've ever tasted. Just couldn't understand why it wasn't packed there every night because the quality and atmosphere was so good there.   :)

Yes, indeed...on one level I knew that... but should have checked first.
Its called MayStone,  and compared to the Capri and Empire's No 72,  its looking quite run -down.

It is, but exactly what it is/was I would be interested to know. It just caught my eye this afternoon as I was meandering about up there.

It's part of the old Glasshouse that once covered that level, maybe part of the heating system?
