Returning to Yorkie's post:

I have taken this point up with English Heritage and there is a reciprocal arrangement.  This is half price entry to EH sites if you have a PAID MEMBERSHIP to CADW.  Free Memberships do NOT have the concession.

Maybe this point should be taken up with CADW!     :rage:

This is becoming interesting. I sent an enquiry to English heritage from their website and I have received this reply.

If you are a 1st year member of Cadw you will receive a 50% discount to English Heritage site, if you are a renewed member then this will be free of charge.

The plot thickens!     I only received the advice I passed on, so it looks better for all those who pay for their Membership to CADW, us poor souls who have to rely on FREE Membership of CADW apparently lose out!   C'est la vie!  I've got my NT card to fall back on.

Yorkie, have you tried cancelling your direct debit for the NT and rejoin via their website at renewal ?

I did last year and benfitted from a reduction in my joint membership fee and a free pair of binoculars. 

I wish these organisations would learn to look after their loyal customers.

I'm never one to miss a trick and automatically look for the best way to renew anything!  I even renwed my car insurance last time with the same insurer, but went through Sheilas Wheels who had a special offer on with that company!   Saved about 15% over the renewal quote I had!

I've had a few bits and pieces from NT over the years but as we get a pensioners joint rate I just renew as normal.  Binoculars I don't need!   Thanks for the tip anyway, I'll check at next renewal and see what's on offer.

One of the problems of going off topic!   Now I must try and find where the Princes Restaurant was and what it is now!

No problem, the question had disappeared onto the previous page, so an easy mistake to make.

Another clue re Princes Restaurant is that it was located on the first floor on a prominent street corner.

Very good! The Bengal Dynasty it now is, above Merrymoon on the Carlton roundabout.

Unlikely, seeing as I wasn't born when the photo was taken! Perhaps you're confusing it with one of your old haunts? 

I think the postcard manufacturers just coloured it in to make the building look more interesting, it was probably white in reality.
