The stone house or should I say farm is Glyn Farm or was ,  the houses in your photo have been built on what was left of the farm .
The stream is the one that flows down through the Dingle , it appears that Cambrian had the wrong mill

Well done Robbie, you have got the location spot on           &well&

Now for the HARD bit,  what was there in the 19th and early 20th century?

Clues:-   it wasn't a mill or a Boy Scout camp!           :(

Not a sand pit Robbie

In it's heyday up to 500 visits were made to this place every month?

Well done Cambrian that's correct       &well&

The land was used as an official refuse tip serving Colwyn Bay       The Council contracted out refuse collection to anyone prepared to go around with a horse and cart and pick up people's rubbish.
In it's heyday 500 cartloads of refuse were being tipped onto the fields across the stream every month.
The flow of water in the stream has exposed fragments of old broken domestic pottery and glass all along its lower levels

I'll post some more about the site again when I next post about my walk up there

Yes, there's quite a few local long-forgotten municipal rubbish tips (and some private ones) most of which have been built over.  Each small council had one or two and it saved time and effort in travelling longer distances.  I remember most of the refuse was ash from fires and things like cans and bottles which could not be burnt.

When I was talking to the guy he told me that the field to the left of the farm in the photo must have been something like a Victorian bottle bank and there was a notice on the fence stating that digging in the field was forbidden
However some scally's  from Liverpool and Manchester came over and dug up the whole field in their search for bottles and pottery

I did notice some land between the farm and the sign post that looked like it may have been a dump at one time and it's in a great elevated position and would be ideal for building if the land was suitable

It isn't Llanelian Robbie, it looks like an old building and is near an old chapel

Perhaps this photo of the gable end of the old building may help?
