Hugo ... thanks for that info, it was totally new to us.
I have my wife's family tree back to Owen Pritchard (b1832) & Ellen Davies (b1829) at Glan-y-Wern. their daughter Anne (my wife's great-grandmother) was born in 1866, in Eglwysbach as was her mother - father Owen born in Dolwyddelan.
I have also worked on my family tree (Thomas), my father's side based in Eglwysbach and Glan Conway. My Taid Ezekiel (b 1880) had a brother named Thomas Thomas (b 1858) who married an Ellen Pritchard (b 1863), both born Eglwysbach, and Ellen's parents were Owen & Ellen.
That means that my wife's great-grandmother Anne Pritchard (Jones) and my great-aunt Ellen Pritchard (Thomas) were sisters!
In 1871 the Pritchard family lived in Eglwysbach, but in 1881 they were at Glan-y-Wern and there are children and grand-children on each of the censuses 1881, 1891 and 1901 but I cannot work out who the parents of some of the grand-children were!
Hugo ... which of Chris Draper's books will I find the information about the tithes in, he seems to have a lot of books on Amazon!
