It's a small but very nice public garden

I'll have a coffee and relax with a read next time I'm here.     Where is it though?

Yes, everything to do with it Steve.      Well done     &well&

I visited the Archives on Monday and saw the garden behind the new building.      I'll have a coffee there next time as it looked good and it was quite busy too

Has anyone any idea where this building once was?

My first guess is Craig Y Don Bri        ;D

But is it in Mostyn Avenue where John Hill's Fruit & Veg shop used to be.     I think that Fortes had an ice cream factory there or next door to it many years ago

They certainly did, Hugo, but I believe they have a different roofline.

I don’t think either it is where Barlows Garage once was in Queens Road.

I am wondering if it may have been on Rivière Avenue where Ind Coope once were?

I was having a drink last night and the Ice Factory came up in our conversation.   No one including myself had any idea where it was and had various guesses as to where it could be.
I do remember the Ind Coope building near Craig Y Don school but cannot remember much about it apart from that it wasn't a tall building so the height have been similar to the one in the photo
The only other very wild guess I could think about was the building belonging to the Craigside Hydro.    It was over the road to the hotel and was near the cliff edge.      I can remember going there to see an ice skating show many years ago.

I'm quite intrigued now that you have posted it on here so hopefully someone will know the answer

I seem to remember, as a child being taken to an ice show one year and Dancing Waters another year. This would be late 50s, early 60s.Would I be correct in thinking that that was somewhere opposite the Craigside Hydro?

The building was across the road to the Craigside Hydro and was owned by the hotel

Sure they had indoor tennis courts opposite Cragside Hydro in the 1950's.
