There is one in Pont ar Fynach and there is one here too but it's not the one in the photo!

So where is it and what is the name of the nearest building?

That's good enough for me Spotty Dog because that's spot on, well done.         &well&

It's a good spot for camping and a nice place to explore.     The Devil's Bridge appears as a pinpoint when you look at the Google map of that area but I didn't look for it when I was there ( poor preparation )       I've since seen a photo of the Devil's Bridge but the "wooden bridge"  has long since gone

These gate posts are all that remain of this property

1)     Where are they?

2)      What was the name of the property?

Thanks Peter, you are correct on the first part but I need the answer for the second part as well.

In the late 1800's   seventy six Police and seventy six troops may have visited this place, but what was the name of this property?      ?{}?

Well done to both Peter and Poppy.            &well&

Those were the gateposts and all that remain of the Glan Y Wern Farm.    On the 16th June 1887 a special train stopped at Mochdre Railway Station  and 76 Police and 76 armed soldiers got off and they were determined to collect the outstanding Tithes or seize goods in lieu.
Owen and Elen Pritchard lived there with their six children and Grandchildren.  Owen was one of the first tenants to withhold his tithe payment and on that day he was the last to receive his visit from the military

That's a facinating bit of info ... Owen & Ellen Pritchard were my wife's great-great-grandparents.

Their daughter Anne married William Jones and emigrated to USA (Emporia. Kansas) about 1909 taking most of their children with them.  The two eldest - William (my wife's Taid) and his brother David were already married so stayed here.  One of their children, Lizzie, died before they went and is buried in Llangwstenin Churchyard.

Thanks for posting that info DVT,   did your wife know about Owen and Ellen's part in that Tithe rebellion?           Most local farmers were non conformists who had no desire to hand over hard earned money to support the Established Anglican Church and that protest must have attracted a lot of attention in its day
Chris Draper has written about the protest in one of his working books and I just want to correct something I wrote previously.     In 1887 there was no railway station in Mochdre so the train made a special stop on the line by the bridge in Station Road Mochdre.
The "Mochdre and Pabo Station"  was there from 1889 to 1931
