Is there an Emoticon that shows me ''kicking myself''?   I see that bluddy Alpine Coaches sign every day ...I also knew that the passage to the promenade had been blocked off (Ivor Wynne Davies book again!!)

Now ...why is this thread in Times Past ??    Come on lets have it ... you moderators are usually so logicalin these matters.

Having said that, I remember what happened the last time we had a ''re-organisation'' on the old forum !!   Y^^Y

Kick yourself again - it's Ivor Wynne Jones.  D)

Where in central Llandudno will you find the remains of this mosaic floor?

St Georges Place....perhaps?

I suppose it could be in 'Ask A Local', I'll move it there.  :)

??? Ask a local??   I was thinking Games and Jokes,   or Hobbies and Pastimes.

It matters not,  I'll join in wherever it is...

My apologies to Ivor Wynne Jones ,  I must have had a senior moment there .. ))* ))* :-[ :-[

Yes, you nipped in before me...I saw the mosaic just tonight.

Its the shop that sells old ladies pinnies,   A La Mode is its name .... damn shame the mosaic has been ruined.

That's the one, Fester. A shame that the original shopfront was ripped out at some point and replaced with a bland modern one.

Where in Llandudno will you find this gateway?

Hugo takes the prize! I was expecting it to last a little longer than that.. :D Yes, it was once the gateway separating the garden of Ardwy Orme with the Orme behind.

I've had a butchers (butchers hook - look) at that sign many times Paddy. It was were Edward Owen had his shop at 67 Mostyn St. The third photo shows his shop circa 1890. It is said that he was the town's first butcher, and that he first set-up his first business from the same shed on the foreshore in which the town was planned.
