I did drive up Top Llan Road but couldn't see the name on a house, having said that you know how bad and dangerous that road is, you can't take your eyes off it for too long.       ;D
Top Llan is the road I thought it was on originally but tomorrow I'm going to a coffee morning in Llandudno and afterwards to the Conwy Archives so I might find something there.
Pen Tai looked very nice when I walked along the lane today and it doesn't have the traffic problems of the other two streets.

I called at the Archives but was unable to confirm where exactly was Gorphwysfa as they had no Street Indexes for Glan Conwy.
There was a book there devoted to St Benedict's Church in Gyffin but unfortunately it didn't have any mention of John Davies.   I did look at the Burial Indexes for St Benedict but John Davies is not buried there.  I did however find out that John and Selina are buried together in St Agnes' Cemetery Conwy at Plot J 033  the inscription on the Headstone reads as follows:-
In loving memory of My Dear Husband John Davies died Oct 21st 1944 aged 68
Also his beloved wife Selina died March 2nd 1982 aged 95  "Adunwyd"  (Eng  Reunited)
I couldn't confirm John's address in Gyffin on this visit to the Archives but will try next time I visit there.
Have you visited the grave in St Agnes' Cemetery?     I wonder if St Agnes is the Church where John was a Sexton?

I went to St Agnes Cemetery and took these three picture of John and Selina's grave.   It's in the neglected part of the Cemetery but someone may have visited the grave in recent years as artificial flowers and some small plant pots were on the grave.
After visiting there I went to Glan Conwy and had a walk around the old part of the village but couldn't see Gorphwysfa so it's whereabouts are a mystery for now.
Just to give you an idea of the area where your ancestors lived I've taken photos of the terrace of cottages called Pen Tai,  the Chapel is very near the cottages and looks down on Isfryn,
The photo of the lane was taken in front of the Chapel and Isfryn is on the left looking down.  The mountains in the distance are called the Carneddau and the views from Pen Tai in the old days must have been spectacular.

While I was in the Archives today I had a look at the 1944 copy of the North Wales Weekly News but could see no mention of any obituary for John Davies.
There was an acknowledgement in the paper on the 26th Oct 1944 from a "Mrs John Davis of 57 Marl Crescent Llandudno Junction"  but that could be just another John Davies as there were quite a few with that name

The Archivist did try to trace something for your John but with such a common name it was virtually impossible, sorry about that.
