Three Castles Welsh Classic - June 4th-7th
« on: May 19, 2014, 04:25:36 pm »
The 12th annual Three Castles Welsh Classic Trial will bring over 80 classic cars to Llandudno - gathering on Wednesday 4th June for scrutineering on the Promenade and the necessary signing-on formalities.

Thursday 5th sees an early start as they head for special tests near Bangor then on to Anglesey with a halt at Beaumaris.  Back to the mainland and head down the Llyn with a test at Glasfryn Kart Circuit (good spectator value) before heading to Port Meirion for lunch then via the Nantlle Valley to finish the day at the Slate Museum, Llanberis.

Friday 6th another early start to head southwards with the first test at Glan-y-Gors Kart Circuit.  On to Bala then over the mountains to Trawsfynydd and down to Dolgellau for lunch.  Then a section along the mountain road overlooking the Mawddach estuary before heading via Lake Vyrnwy to Bala and back to Glan-y-Gors for an afternoon test.  After a tea stop in Betws-y-Coed it's a short regularity near Ty'n-y-Groes to finish on Conwy Quay.

Saturday 7th we start with tests around the Marine Drive, then on to Kinmel Hall and Bodelwyddan Castle and on to Mostyn Hall.  Regularity sections then take crews southwards past Denbigh and return northwards through the lanes to finish with lunch at the Kinmel Arms, St George.  Then it's back to Llandudno for two more tests around the Marine Drive, finishing near the halfway tram station before returning to the ceremonial finish back on the Promenade mid-afternoon.

Viewers welcome on Wednesday for scrutineering on the Prom, or if you're an early bird you can see them leave (one minute intervals) early each day (7 or 7.30am).  Welcome all back at the finish on Saturday afternoon.  Spectators welcome at Glasfryn Kart Circuit (Thursday morning) and Glan-y-Gors Kart Circuit (Friday morning and afternoon).
