Event Description
In this unique opportunity, you'll take the reins in a professional kitchen - alongside Bodnant's Head Chef Dai Davies, and a team of culinary experts and in-house specialists; in an intensive 6 week course, culminating in a banquet in the Hayloft Restaurant for all of your family and friends to enjoy.
Each Monday, starting from the 9th February, you'll receive training and inside knowledge in the following areas:
(Monday 9th February) Week 1: You'll begin your culinary journey with a full introduction to the Hayloft kitchen and the restaurant team - you'll sharpen your knives, before preparing a selection of winter dishes; stock, soups, and artisan breads, with the expert guidance of Dai Chef.
(Monday 16th February) Week 2: In your second session, you'll discover the best-kept secrets of the Welsh coast! A guest seafood specialist will guide you through a range of seafood recipes - introducing you to various fish and shellfish delicacies, all sourced from the local Welsh coast.
(Monday 23rd February) Week 3: Your third week will prepare you for the main event - you'll receive a masterclass in meat, alongside Bodnant Butchery Manager, Jason Fraser.
You'll get to grips with the best methods and cuts for cooking and prepping a variety of meat, including game, as well as learning the art of sausage making.
(Monday 2nd March) Week 4: In your fourth week you'll receive a guided tour of Bodnant's dairy and cheese-making facilities, with the opportunity to taste Bodnant's multi-award-winning varieties of cheese before being talked through a range of recipe ideas and serving suggestions.
(Monday 9th March) Week 5: Last but not least, the final stage of your culinary journey will be all about desserts! You'll be joined in the kitchen by Bodnant's in-house pastry expert, who will closely guide you through preparing an impressive range of cakes, pastries and chocolate - with a visit to Bodnant's in-house bakery.
(Monday 16th March) Week 6: The grand finale! In your final week, your culinary skills developed over the previous weeks will be put to the ultimate test - in a Hell's Kitchen style banquet, prepared by yourself, for all of your family and friends to enjoy in the Hayloft Restaurant. At the end of the evening you'll be presented with a certificate showcasing your achievements!
Price includes six 3 hour sessions - beginning from the first Monday in February, each Monday evening onwards - 6pm-9pm
