Piloti
« on: November 19, 2010, 08:11:22 pm »
I've been told that a former member (and, indeed, moderator) of the original Llandudno Local forum, who used the user name of Piloti, was found dead yesterday. I'm sure more details will appear in the local press shortly.

Our commiserations to his family.

Very sad.
He had a lot of friends in the area who have been left devastated by his passing.
RIP Jon.

His name was Jonathon and I'm very sorry to say he will be asking no more questions at the Kings Head Quiz. We don't know why, but after completing last Wednesdays Quiz, he went home to Deganwy and took his own life. I will not speculate on what made him do such a terrible thing, but know he will be sadly missed by a lot of people who knew him. If you would like to say Goodbye to Jonathon come to the Kings Head at 9pm on Wednesday 24th November. Needless to say there won't be a Quiz, just a chance to remember a really nice man.

Suicide rates leap at this time of the year, too. Very sad.

It has come as a complete shock reading this post. I give my sincere thoughts to his close friends, family and the Kings Head who will mourn the loss of such a loyal and well loved quiz master. R.I.P. Jon.

I'm told his funeral will not be for a couple of weeks.

Short article in today's Weekly News which states funeral will be at The Crematorium at 11.30 a.m. on Monday, December 13th.   Donations to Children in need.

Nothing said about cause of death.

To feel suicidal is a terrible terrible way to feel.  I have attempted suicide many times through my younger years. Nearly achieved it once. (I'm not saying this for attention, just explaining how I empathise with people in that frame of mind)  The highest rate of suicide in this country is young men between 21-35 believe it or not.  Depression is an illness.  I didn't know him to be honest.  Knew him or not it's tragic   :(

He was certainly interested in boats and was a contributor to the Fairey Marine Forum.  He also owned at least one and maybe more Huntsman 28's.
