The Royal Hotel
« on: December 05, 2013, 11:33:23 am »
Anyone got any knowledge of what is going on at The Royal Hotel these days. ?The sign on the front says 'For Sale' but every night there are lots of lights on , not always the same ones, all over the building. The front door onto Church Walks is blocked with rubbish and furniture, both inside and out.

I believe the previous owners still live at the property.

Same question over 3 years on. What is happening to this poor old building?

The question is do what?

It crossed my mind, if they are thinking of redevelopment in the future .. flats....I believe there is quite a large footprint there and as it is next to Grange  court ? Height wise   6 stories ?.....any redevelopment there could be huge.

Garth Court Steve, and it's an obscenity of a building.

Thanks F. I was not sure of my facts on this hence a lot of ? marks.....I agree with your comment re Garth Court, it is ugly and does not suit Llandudno we had a look when we first arrived, we were taken to one of the upper floors and looking down onto the roofs, even  I could tell there was going to be a very large repair bill in the future, and the flat we were shown was extremely damp proving my point.

I know the place is now closed, but CCBC prattle on about loss of 'holiday accommodation' till they sound like a broken record. They would be treading on their own toes , as they often do, if they grant permission for that !
