On Saturday 12 November a wreath was laid at Llandudno’s “other” war memorial to honour men who had died in their country's service in an earlier conflict far from home.  The South African War Memorial in St. Tudno’s churchyard on the Great Orme commemorates four men from the Denbighshire Hussars Imperial Yeomanry and the Royal Welch Fusiliers who died during the 1900-1902 war and was erected by public subscription.  Members of the Lions Club of Llandudno, with some of their families and other supporters, attended a short service of remembrance at St. Tudno’s Church before laying the wreath at the memorial.

I think the date for the Midnight Mass should read Saturday 24 December at 11.30pm

We are hoping to ring the bells on the 24th from 11pm to 11.30pm prior to the service starting.

Christmas Morning  25 December at 10.30am - Sung Eucharist at Holy Trinity Church.

St Tudno's Church

Once again someone confuses  St Tudno's Church as being the 'structure' in the CCBC Cemetary!!

For the correct St Tudno's Church see www.llandudno-parish.org.uk

IT IS NOT THE ONE IN THE PICTURE POSTED TODAY ON THIS SITE

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's St. Tudno's Church:

Thanks Dave, that really is a splendid picture of yours. It would make a very nice postcard.

Thanks for sorting that out, you two.  It's disappointing how many photos are circulating of the cemetery chapel masquerading as St. Tudno's Church.  I came across one on Wikipedia and there are loads on Google Earth.

St. Tudno's roof

There's good news about the re-roofing of St. Tudno's - the work will begin this month!  The church will therefore be closed from Saturday 18 February until late May, though the churchyard will still be open.

Many thanks to everyone who has supported the Friends of St. Tudno's fundraising efforts.  If you would still like to take part in Sponsor-a-Slate, please would you do so by the end of February.  Forms are available on the Sponsor-a-Slate page of the parish website, or send me a PM.

We all know which is which but the site still has not corrected the matter. How about more people posting a comment on www.llandudnopictures.wordpress.com  to persuade Geoff to get it right.
