I think the picture of the bank is from 130 Lord Street Southport. It's now a Natwest Branch.

Your right Dave. It's 367 Lord street not 130. It's on the other side of Lord street and more central than the one I had in mind. I'm sure I used to go in there when it was a pub/wine bar.

Taking a look around the former Funship at Mostyn:

DaveR I thought you might like this article, as you like getting into old places of interest, and its a continuation of your post of Dec. 2011.   ( the article is from today but appears to be an older piece )

I was lucky enough to take my wife and two children on the fun ship not long after it opened the film Superman had just come out and we sat through it on the ship, and if my memory serves me right we had the fish and ships that were not cheap in those days, and 26p for a coffee was a bit steep. My son had one of the games that you could play on in the arcade and was made up because he could play on such a larger version than his. Memories of good old days. Thanks Steve.

Thank you, very interesting. I understand that all the old arcade and pinball games have been sold and removed now, they have probably appreciated in value quite a bit in the time they have been sitting there.

A superb article, thanks for posting it,  it looked like time had stood still within.

In DaveR's absence I am promoting myself to posting in this section!  ;D
Inspired by Fester's moonlight photos I tried these last night.
Sadly no shimmering sea on mine though.

This photo was taken in Canada and shows about 700,000 people.

Hard to  disappear in a crowd.     Pick on a  small part of the
crowd click a couple of times -- wait --   click a few more times and
see how clear each  individual face  will  become each time. Or use
the wheel on your  mouse.

This picture was taken with a 70,000 x 30,000 pixel camera
(2100 Mega  Pixels.)  These cameras are not sold to the public and
are being  installed in strategic  locations.

The camera can identify a face among a multitude of  people.

Place your computer’s cursor in the mass of people and
double-click a  couple  times.

Scary sharp!!  Not so easy to hide in a crowd  anymore
