I had to chuckle when I read the £205k doesn't cover the optional extras...

Amazing car!
Not cars but trailers. Never ceases to amaze us how many Ifor Williams trailers we see abroad.
They must have an excellent export business.

Nowhere as exotic, just North Norfolk but 2 of them in the (shared) drive at the moment. One is a neighbour's and the other the plumber's. I'd not understand such things but they do seem a popular choice amongst those needing  a "work trailer".

I have been affected by modern headlights, but thought it was just me getting old, it would appear I am not the only one.....

Drivers are being temporarily blinded by modern vehicle headlights, according to an RAC survey.
Two-thirds of drivers say they are "regularly dazzled" by oncoming headlights even though they are dipped, the survey of 2,061 motorists suggests.

One in 10 of those drivers said that it was five to 10 seconds before their eyesight then adjusted and they could see clearly again.
The RAC said advances in headlight technology were causing the problem.

About 15% of those drivers polled said they had nearly suffered a collision as a result of being dazzled by other drivers using full-beam headlights.

Why are modern car headlights so bright? How to prevent dazzle.

What’s the problem?
It’s a fact that car headlights are getting brighter. The motor industry is continually boasting about how it has improved lighting performance, to keep drivers safe. Meanwhile, eye specialists say the downside is that this actually impairs the vision of increasing numbers of drivers in oncoming traffic.

At the same time, as drivers age the eye’s lens and cornea effectively become misty, and as bright light in shone through them, drivers suffer something called ‘disability glare’. Studies have shown it can take up to 10 seconds to recover from the phenomenon.

According to police data, accident investigators report ‘dazzling headlamps’ as an influence in 10 fatal crashes, nearly 70 serious accidents and more than 250 other accidents.

Motorists will feel the sting at the pumps over coming weeks as the price of fuel is set to hike again.
This weekend, drivers across the UK were hit by a 2p per litre hike at the forecourts.

And as tensions over the Middle East continue to escalate, experts say there could be further increases of up to 5.5p a litre to come.

The price of petrol has been rising steadily since last summer, but the recent military action against Syria has driven wholesale oil prices up even further.

Some industry experts think that a sustained price jump could see prices similar to that of late 2014, around 123 pence per litre for unleaded and 127 pence per litre for diesel, which spells bad news for drivers.

Wholesale prices have sky rocketed by 4p a litre in under four weeks, triggering fears that car owners could see fuel bills spiral.

Mum’s getting a “new” car on Monday.  She’s  wanted something a bit smaller and a bit easier to get in/out of that the Xsara for a while.  Nice chap (who’s been good with us for years) at local garage found her a Suzuki Wagon for the amazing price of £500. Thing is, it looks exactly what’s required. A nice clean runaround seemingly built more with practicality/utility in mind.

I'd better not tell her that, Hugo. At the moment, the only thing she doesn't like about it is that it's blue, and an even worse shade of blue that her current car...

I don't mind the looks of them but, sure, I gather they are not everyone's cup of tea...

Years ago blue cars cost more to insure;  no idea if that's still the same. Red used to be the cheapest.  Oh - and Which? discovered that using a hotmail address if you're buying online can raise the cost of car insurance.

I had a stroll on the promenade after a coffee morning at the Queens today and there were some great motors on display.    It's well worth having a look especially when the weather was so good.
