Just a quick reminder that this Sunday (Sept 12) the Rialto Film Night at Theatr Colwyn will be screening the remastered version of the classic James Mason / Ava Gardner film:

 ‘Pandora & The Flying Dutchman’.

Tickets are £4.50 and the film starts at 7.30pm.

Additionally, you may like to take note that our October screening, LEAVING, starring Kristin Scott Thomas, will take place at VENUE CYMRU in Llandudno. This is because Theatr Colwyn is closing next month for a large front of house redevelopment, due to re-open in Spring of 2011. Please continue to support us and come along to our temporary new home on October 10.
Best,
Joann  - Rialto Film Night

It is a pity that Llandudno Town Council do not show a similar initiative.

The Llandudno Town Councillors appear to be a bunch of total incompetents.   A recent Freedom of Information request for 5 pieces of information is still unfulfilled after 6 weeks when the limit on providing the information is 20 days.   I personally have seen them "work" in the Council Chamber and it is rather like a class of 6 year olds trying to decide who is to be "it".   Rationale disappears out of the window and the town finishes up with poor standards in every service the Town Council are elected to deliver.  Except, of course, when it is a "jolly" and they can get their snouts into the trough at such events as Mayor making, Civic Sunday, Town Twinning and after meeting drinkies in the Mayor's Parlour.

What a shambles.   A few well organised Voluntary Committees could do a better job, and certainly more effectively and more efficiently and at less cost.   I am fed up with them and I suspect so are many more people.

Rhos on Sea Savoyards are performing Ruddigore, an operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan, for 4 nights 18th - 21st May 2011. The Show starts at 7.30pm and it takes place at St. Paul’s Church Hall, which can be found in Rhiw Road Colwyn Bay (almost opposite the Town Hall). Tickets are only £5 for a musical show that pokes fun at both gothic horror and etiquette.

If you would like to reserve tickets, please contact Alison Smith on 07955 070885.

Rhos on Sea Savoyards is an amateur group that specialises in Gilbert and Sullivan; they’ve been around for nearly 30 years: more details on their website at www.savoyards.org.uk
