He went on longer than last year when he was here in August. My OH crawled into bed going up to 1am.

He will be there tonight-- end of the row behind the wheelchairs-- you can't miss his fuzzy grey hair !!

I shall look out for him, Nem.

We are thinking of moving upstairs during the interval (if there is one) so we can escape without any fuss if I begin to wilt.

Typing this at almost 9.15, so you won't be at the interval yet !
I hate to tell you, but in the days when I used to go as well ,we came out of Huddersfield Town hall at one of his shows at 20 to 2 am. It is no wonder my back won't put up with it these days !

Some years ago my daughter worked part-time at Venue Cymru and operated the main spotlight from up in the gods.  Did the Ken Dodd show a couple of times, and was up there until past 1 o'clock in the morning - finding it difficult to stay awake and be ready with the light to follow him when he moved around the stage!

Well we stuck through to the end at 12.15am.

We won't do it again in a hurry as those seats get really uncomfortable after a while.

Glad you managed to make it to the end.

Take it that you missed the episode on the front row?
Someone, plus a carer, left partway through the first half and unbeknown to anyone had left a large poo ( to be polite) behind them. By the time the lights came up for the interval, it had been trod in and some ladies had put their handbags down in the resulting mess.
The theatre staff cleared up during the interval, but they had a horrendous job.
Now how anyone could sit near that for all that time and not investigate the smell I do not know.

How can anyone behave like that? Surely the theatre management can find out who it is from the booking and ban them for life?  &shake&

What my OH could not understand was how that volume of 'stuff' could exit a wheelchair and someones garments! :puke2:

I noticed the carer plus wheelchair user leave shortly into the performance, Nem, and all the cleaning being carried out in the interval but I did not realise that was the reason why.

I agree with DaveR that the Management should have details of the individuals involved from their records and should take appropriate action.

The persons concerned surely couldn't have said anything as they left, or action would surely have been taken before a bigger mess ensured, as it obviously did.
Accidents can happen, but concern for others and good manners would surely have been in order.
My OH said the matter was dealt with very well, but he was chatting to one of the stewards who said such a thing had never happened in the 15 years he had been there.

I wonder if they were paid time-and-a-turd?

We agree on something!   Mrs Fester and I went to see him at VC two years ago, it was an excellent show but Doddy finished at 1.10am, and by that time my bladder and my back were in torment.   Never again I vowed, whilst laughing all the way home.
