Clocks
« on: August 29, 2013, 11:15:49 pm »
For many years I have wanted a longcase clock, I've always loved them and this week I became the owner / custodian of one! We happened to look in the Colwyn Bay sale room (Rogers Jones) after a good look at it I bid on it and was the highest bidder! After disassembling it we got it in our Fiesta and got it home, it is now running well (I have a friend who knows all about these clocks to guide me in getting it running well). After a good wax polish it's looking great!  D)

We're currently looking for a smaller, wall clock, but with Westminster chimes. Might try there.

I'm looking for some clock oil now, are there any local shops that sell it?

Just use 3 in 1 oil on pivots .
However adding  oil to a grubby clock will just turn the dry dust to grinding paste so any perceived success will be short lived

I've just acquired these 3 gold watches, the two smaller ones are not working, but the Egona Swiss chronograph with 18k gold case is working but I would think needs a service, a very nice find!
