Sat Navs

Received an email from Garmin saying map update available for my lifetime version. The trouble is that each time I do it, it takes about 3 hours to install the update, and that's only for 'North West Europe'. Are all sat navs the same?

My VW Sat Nav took the best part of 2 hours to load when I purchased the car.
The box stated it could take that long so I just went for a long drive whilst it loaded up.

And on top of the time to install the update, it usually tells me that first I have to download an update to my 'communicator plug-in'.   :rage:

Yes, that's why it was a LONG drive, but I then had the Sat Nav to get back home!

This is not what I call helpful banking NatWest.
One counter manned and one meeter and greeter showing you how to work a machine.

Take heart, Nemesis. The B and B industry will never be mechanised. Because the customers love to moan and complain and they cannot moan to a machine.

Every week I go into the Halifax Bank, to do my banking.

Every week, they attempt to usher me away from the human counter staff, and towards a machine.
Every week, I politely decline, and insist on being dealt with by an actual human being.

I'm getting a bit sick of the whole repetitive charade.

About 15 years ago, the staff in Barclays Bank in Conwy regularly tried to convert me over to internet banking but I used to tell them I was doing my best to avoid it in order to keep the staff in a job.

In the end, they won and they converted me and I have never looked back.

Shortly later, Barclays Bank in Conwy closed.

I have internet bank accounts with both my banks, and they are great for dealing with most of my transactions.

But, I have to deposit cash on a regular basis, and luckily the internet has not yet mastered taking bags of coins.
However, the machine they want me to use can take all noted and cheques.   I just don't want it to!

I am aware of this problem B2R, and I have commissioned JCB Corporation to come up with some new heavy-duty lifting and movement apparatus that will assist me in moving these VAST amounts of cash in a safe manner.

I have a personal and a business account with Santander.

To pay cheques into the Personal account I have to use the cash machine inside.

To pay cheques into the Business account I have to use the cash machine outside.

When I questioned it I was told "that's just the way it is" ... cue Bruce Hornsby!
