I suspect Twitter is a wonderful antidote for low self-esteem.  If you tweet, and pick up 'followers'

Just a modern version of the Pied Piper really.  :D

For that very reason ( I could use it to keep an eye on them) I'm the last person either of my two lads would add as a friend.

And in the meantime they are earning interest on your money and every other person who has ordered.   I suggest you contact supplier and demand immediate refund and threaten with action for theft as they should not have taken the payment without having the goods available.    Look at Distance Selling Regulations.   Also contact your Bank or Card Company.

Wouldn't you prefer some lovely framed prints of Llandudno instead? Don't provide as much light but far more attractive...

I've used the Lighting Superstore in the past, and it's been okay. However, this practice of taking the money from your credit card is poor one, but threatening them with action for theft won't work, since  a business will always fall back on the defence that they had no intention of permanently depriving you of your goods, which is the legal definition of theft.  Far better to go to your credit card issuer and demand restitution under section 75 of the consumer credit act.

This, of course, only applies if you've paid by credit card; you should never, ever pay for anything over £100 on anything but your credit card, naturally, since credit cards offer extensive consumer protection.

It is, of course, up to the store to prove that they had no intention of permanently depriving you of your goods.  However if they did not have the goods, they should not have taken the payment.   Therefore immediate restitution should take place.

thats assuming that you have a credit card, I've not had one for years as I hate owing money, I'm not even sure if I could get one as I've not borrowed any money for years and probably have a very low credit rating?  The protection is worth having though, so I may look in to it

Doubt you will get one-- we are in the process of trying to change ours and because we have no debts of any sort no one wants to know.
