Two photos of the Llandudno Home Guard, kindly added to the Gallery by Suepp. Where was that second photo taken?

Mr George Jones of Llandudno was voted Personality Milkman of 1964 and he is shown here at the National Dairy Centre in Charing Cross Road, London where he received his prize.

Holidaymakers view 'What The Butler Saw' picture peep shows (mutoscopes) on the pier, circa 1935.

The photo below is of one of the females checking her make-up.

A "climber" on the Little Orme balancing on one leg, as he tries to reach his hat which had been blown off his head, circa 1933.

Britain's longest married couple (77 years) honeymooned in Llandudno.

1933 LLANDUDNO, HERE WE COME!

The couple went straight from wedding reception to honeymoon. The best man, Ralph's brother Eric, took a suitcase of clothes along for the groom and Phyllis changed out of her wedding dress in the vestry.

'I wore plus fours!' laughs Ralph. The short trousers were trendy at the time.

The couple went straight from wedding reception to honeymoon

They took the last train from Sheffield at 10.30pm  -  the 'honeymoon express'  -  to Llandudno, where they stayed in a boarding house. 'Back then you stayed in houses which had been recommended by friends,' says Phyllis. 'It was a lovely honeymoon.'

For many years Llandudno had a resident photographer who photographed people in the street. The photographer would then give a ticket to the subjects, in order for them to purchase the photographs from the photographer's studio when they had been developed at a later date.

These three photo's from the same area in Vaughan Street are dated 1935, 1936 and 1937 and the subjects are Sarah Anne Jones of Dyserth & daughters. They were more than likely snapped, whilst walking from the train station into town.

A photo taken on the promenade in 1947. Note the females' 'modern' bikini from that era.

Mr George Robert Thompson, Llandudno's Postcard King. He had a number of shops in Llandudno and one in Deganwy.
