That's my dad John Edwards in the first photo with his tenor horn, apparently they had some great sing songs in the bar on those Scottish trips!  the taller of the two men in the other photo looks like Hughie Hughes, not too sure about the other man! would I have known your father?
edit:how could I not recognise my own father! minus his glasses and with a silly expression!
Dad only retired from the Town band this year having been a member since 1945.

Your Dad must have really loved his music to be in the Town Band for so long, I remember going on the Prom in the 60's and listening to the Band playing at the Bandstand.   There used to be hundreds of people there all enjoying the music.
They were a great crowd at Maesdu and my father Norman Hughes always looked forward to going on the trips. Dad enjoyed his singing and would have loved those sing songs that they had up there in Scotland.
He's pictured here on the extreme left of the row your Dad's on and looking looking like he's had a few!     Z**

Hugo I remember your dad very well, he was a great friend of my dads, he appears in several photos of our family barbecues!  Lots of familiar faces in that photo too!

The man on the extreme left, back row, is Rob Williams and the man third from the left, back row, is Tony Hobson.

The figure, centre, with hand over his head is George Brooks, on his left, John Edwards, next Bill ( Band ) Jones. They taught my son to play the Cornet and read Music in the Town Band. My son continued with Music after playing in the Band and is now a multi instrument musician and Music Teacher. He and I owe them a lot. George has recently retired from the Band. Well done lads and Thanks.  $thanx$  and   ££$

That's Henry Williams to the right of Tony Hobson and three further to the right is Don Williams.  I knew most of them by name at one time but it's been so long since I was a member at Maesdu that I have forgotten some of their names.

the man with the big moustache I only know as "Tash" and the  second from the left on the front row is Bill Jones' brother "Tommy Tinks" the white haired man at the back is Jeff Eschle. He was the MC of the Willie Weiss Oompah Band who entertained at various beer festivals in the area in the 1980's. I've got a photo somewhere.

I think that the guy to Jeff Eschle's right is called Laurie and may have worked in the carpet business but I can't remember his surname.
The Willie Weiss Oompah Band was very popular in the 80's because Dad used to look forward to going to see them. He enjoyed the music and the atmosphere at these events as well as the excuse for a pint or two!       Z**
