New year, New challenge!  Amanda Jacobs took part in a 10,000ft skydive for St David’s Hospice and raised over £600.

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge for 2013? Why not sign up for a 10,000ft tandem skydive and raise money towards hospice care at the same time.

Hospice supporter, Amanda Jacobs from Penrhyn Bay tells us about her St David’s Hospice Skydiving challenge experience.
“I had a thoroughly wonderful day; the skydive centre was very well organised and friendly.
The weather was perfect for us, we could see for miles from 10,000ft. It was most spectacular.
Before I knew it the plane door was open and we were heading for ground at 120mph – it took my breath away.
Once the parachute was open, I could enjoy the view more. As we approached the ground, I was told to pull my legs up and we landed perfectly on the marked spot on the ground, and there I sat for a few seconds shaking from head to toe. My instructor said ‘that’s pure adrenalin – and that’s legal!’. I would have gone straight back up in the plane to do it all again if they would have let me. To anyone who is thinking about it - just DO IT.....”

The next St David’s Hospice skydiving day is Saturday 8th June 2013 at Tilstock Parachute Centre, Shropshire. For a free information pack call 01492 873664. Places are limited.

Leave a future gift - A quarter of the work that we do at St David’s is made possible because of legacies. Writing a will is the only way to ensure that what you leave behind is
distributed according to your wishes. As well as supporting your family and friends, many people choose to leave a future gift to some charities close to their heart. Charitable legacies are the foundation for many good causes, including St David’s Hospice. By providing for your everyday needs now, but considering a gift in your Will for the Hospice in future, you will continue to ensure that we provide end of life care, free of charge, to all our patients for many years to come. Please make an appointment with your solicitor to discuss your wishes further or call the St David’s Hospice Finance Officer Andrew Humphreys on 01492 879058.
