NHS Breast Implant replacement
« Reply #540 on: January 10, 2012, 06:15:42 pm »
I see that the Welsh NHS have decided to fund the replacement of potentially faulty breat implants.

I heard a lady on the news saying she would ask the Welsh Govt for hep in getting rid of her useless tit.
Now, I am a little worried about the whereabouts of Dave R.   L0L

A 65 year old Abergele Grandmother had an implant last year to take her from an A to an F cup and is now dating men as young as 24 and definitely no one under 45 apparently.

Medical Negligence.

I read this story on the news today... and I had so many reactions to it I hardly know where to start.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-16533134

I felt so sorry for the woman who went in for a minor operation, and never woke up again.
I felt proud of the family who are obviously level headed and not litigious.
Then I felt amazed that a kidney removal involves nothing more than blindly grabbing hold of an organ and brutally yanking it out!!  :o
There was me thinking that intricate incisions and meticulous sealing of blood vessels were necessary.

So now I feel queasy...  :puke2:

I heard that too-- on the radio.
It makes you shudder. Unless absolutely necessary it makes one avoid anything medical.  ?{}?

Having had open heart surgery in 1990 involving quadruple coronary artery by-pass grafts coupled with a left mammary artery graft, and then in 2000, an Abdominal Aortic Artery Repair, I have a tremendous amount of faith in the NHS and Surgeons in general.  Without either of these interventions I would not be here now and as a result have enjoyed another 22 years of my family, friends and life in general.  (And I hope a few more to come!)
