That's what people forget isn't it, you can use any name you like but the IP is always the same so he knows damn well who you are  ;D

Not true.

"Static IP addressing is for one customer on one IP address and Dynamic IP addressing assigns a different IP address each time the ISP customer logs on to their computer, but this is dependent upon the Internet Service Provider (ISP) because some ISP's only change the IP address as they deem it necessary.

If you have Dynamic IP Addressing through your Website Host it means that you are sharing an IP Address with several other customers."

If you switch off your router you could get a different IP address every time you switch on.  Mine stays on 24/7 so should only change when I switch on again after a holiday.   :D

You can use the IP address in conjunction with one or two other methods to determine if a particular person posted something. At the end of the day, there are only one or two nuisances out there, so not hard to keep an eye on them if you're Oscar...  ;)

Let's just emphasise the message with a quick repeat.  Notice the word "should".

"Staff at an Anglesey hotel have been banned by managers from speaking Welsh when the head chef is in the kitchen.

The Carreg Mon near Llanfairpwll asked employees not to use Welsh because he does not speak the language and is responsible for health and safety.

The Welsh Language Board (WLB) is to write to the hotel and wants a meeting with the managers.

General manager Ruth Hogan insisted the hotel was not discriminating against the language.

Of its 25 staff, only three are non-Welsh speaking."

Perhaps the Head Chef should consider learning Welsh? Did no-one think to tell him that Welsh is spoken in Wales?

Changing your IP address in Windows - Computer connected directly to the modem
1.Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd).
2.Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes, on the command line by itself).
3.Type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes, on the command line by itself).

Windows (second option) - Computer connected directly to the modem
1.Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd).
2.Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes).
3.Shut down computer.
4.Turn off computer.
5.Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches.
6.Turn off cable/DSL modem.
7.Leave off overnight.
8.Turn everything back on.

Not difficult if you can be bothered!  I can't. . . . . . I suppose I'll get another Pinnochio now!   :

That sets your pc's internal ip address (normally 192.168.1.2), the ip address recorded in site logs etc is determined by your isp.

I didn't want to give all the secrets away!   _))*

Of course if anybody is a "techie" or just interested in the operation of the internet and Internet Protocol addresses there is a plethora of information on the Web.
