I'm amazed that the dog doesn't mind wearing them. He looks really cool in them though.   8)

The goggles are not worn for show. They are to protect against snow blindness.

While I was sitting doing my knitting one morning on a recent trip to Switzerland, Mr Hollins was up here on touring skis.

Congratulations to Dave Ryding, a Lancashire lad who learnt on a dry ski slope competing with the world's best slalom skiers.

Action man is on his way back from a ski touring trip to Norway.
He was very lucky with the weather because they have had a lot of rain and low cloud either side of his weekend away.

I'm pleased that he's coming back home safe and sound Hollins after what looks like a very nice ski touring trip in Norway.    Lovely photos of that beautiful country.

Yes, thanks Hugo. I am always relieved when he returns in one piece as he doesn't usually do things by halves.
He tells me now that what I thought was a cloud in the first photo I posted was in fact an avalanche.
They were skiing above the Geirangerfjord. In the summer there are many cruises there.
I have never been but the scenery does look spectacular.

Some friends are heading for Norway next week, and I was showing them your photos, I must admit we commented on the avalanche or clowd, and agreed on the former, great photos by the way....  $good$

My wife and I had a cruise in the fjords when I retired from work 10 years ago and we really enjoyed the experience.   It was quite moving for me as my late father was on a minesweeper during WW 2  and the ship patrolled the fjiords and he told me about how beautiful the place was and how nice the Norwegian people were to him.
The are many cruises doing the fjords but we picked the P & O one because it covered the 4 or 5 places that I wanted to see.   Flam and Bergen in particular were a must to visit.
