I think this is my great great grandfather David DAVIES (b. 1838)...

Gentlemen of standing always require the services of good Tailors.
David Davies, Back Madoc Street.
John Davies & Son, 36 Mostyn Street.

Not sure whether his brother John Davies b. 1839 also became a tailor

Where do I find more information?

Have you tried checking any census returns which are likely to show occupations?

Hello Bri, yes I have found the census records. I have David Davies living at 5 Hughes Cottages Back Madoc Street in 1891. I just wondered if this is the same David Davies? Did Tailors work in a shop, or perhaps he never had his own shop and worked at home.

Hello Bronwen

I thought you were trying to establish whether or not John Davies became a tailor.

The census returns for 1861, 1871 and 1881 should prove helpful.

Unfortunately, I am unable to read the 1891 census you have posted.
